Key Parent Information
Dear CCS Parent,
The following paragraphs contain important information regarding a handful of topics that you'll want to be familiar with involve procedures at CCS. This certainly isn't an exhaustive list so please call our school administrative Jackie Winton with any other questions that you may have regarding the school.
Tuition Payments
Payments for tuition and student fees may be made in person or by mail. All accounting is handled through the school office on the Covenant Christian School campus.
Communication Between School & Parents
Open communication is essential for the happiness and growth of our students at Covenant Christian High School. Every effort will be made by the teachers and administration to keep the students and their parents well informed of student progress as well as the scheduled programs and activities of our school. In turn, it is anticipated that parents will communicate their concerns and encouragement in an appropriate and timely way.
For the school's part, weekly announcements through the Covenant Communiqué are sent home with students on Fridays.
Other announcements or letters are also sent home with the students, and posted on the Web site from time to time.
On an individual basis, each of our teachers will communicate through notes and phone calls. This is in addition to the academic reporting described in the CCS Student Handbook.
Parents need to know how very important it is for them to thoughtfully read communications from the school since the size of the school does not make it possible to communicate directly with each individual family. Students must also be accountable to their parents for delivering information to them on the same day it is given.
Scheduling Conferences
Parents are encouraged to make an appointment to visit with a teacher. These appointments should be scheduled at least on day in advance through the office.
A conference with the headmaster or principal may also be scheduled through the secretary. The same advanced notification is usually required to insure adequate conferencing time.
Notification of Disciplinary Action
Parents will be given written notification (and sent via email if an account exists) of disciplinary action taken against their child on the day of the action. Parents will please acknowledge their receipt of such notification by their signature and return of the letter. In cases of serious or persistent misconduct, a conference with a parent will be required as outlined earlier in this handbook. Parents will be called to schedule appointments at their earliest convenience. In some cases, parents may be required to attend such a conference during the school day and on the same day that disciplinary action is taken.
