College Bound!
We have created this page to help our parents and students make their plans for their education after graduation from Covenant. By clicking on a link, you will be taken to those sites which will help you get the details you need to plan for applying for admission to college. The links offer invaluable information which will help you prepare for the SAT and ACT, prepare for the Advanced Placement examinations, find a suitable college, and plan for paying for college. We have also provided you links to the colleges where some of our more recent graduates either have attended or are presently attending.
Start planning now!
The College Board main website is a great place to start planning for your college years. There is a wealth of information available at their website which will help you in gathering all of the details you will need to make an informed, wise decision.
For Parents:
For our parents, the College Board For Parents page provides information regarding College Board tests, planning for college, finding a college, applying to college, and paying for college. There is a wealth of valuable information available which should help take the mystery out of the college selection process. You can also sign up with the College Board to receive email updates from them to help you in your planning.
For Students:
For our students, the College Board for Students website contains a wealth of information that you need to prepare yourselves for your college education. A good place to start is at the SAT homepage. The ACT:
The ACT is another college entrance examination which students may take. The ACT website also contains valuable information which will help you plan for your college years. They offer information about test preparation, planning for college, information regarding they types and sources of financial assistance, and career planning. The ACT website can be an important source for planning your college choice.
The PSAT/NMSQT:
The college planning process does not begin in your junior year, but actually in October of your freshman year. Each October, all ninth through eleventh grade students will take the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualification Test. This examination provides students firsthand experience for the SAT and enters them in the National Merit Scholarship Corporation's screening process for scholarship programs. This examination is an important part of successful college planning and obtaining scholarship funding for college and will be administered at Covenant on Wednesday, October 12, 2011. You should visit the PSAT/NMSQT website, as well as the NMSC website for further information. You can also click here to download an overview of the importance of the PSAT/NMSQT.
Now, which college should you go to?
The college planning process is a two-part process. The SAT and ACT websites will help you determine what you have to do to be admitted to college. The second part is to determine the entrance requirements of the college you desire to attend. Below are links to some of the colleges and universities that our more recent graduates have or are attending. Be sure you identify the specific admission requirements of the college, or colleges, to which you intend to apply.
