Co-Curricular Activities 2009-2010

During the school year, there are several co-curricular activities, which are a part of the life and program of our school.  Below is a list of these.  Perhaps you would like to be involved in one or more.  Talk to your teacher about participating.

Speech Meet: This is an annual school-wide event for grades 1-6.  Winners go on to compete in the ACSI District 1 Speech Meet.

Art Festival: This is also an annual event within our school for grades K-12.  Winning art is sent on to the District Art Festival.

Spelling Bee: This event is for all students in grades 1-8.  Winners from grades 4-8 go on to compete at the ACSI District 1 level.  If successful there, 5th through 8th graders are eligible to compete in the regional meet.  Four winners are selected at the regional meet to compete in the nationals in Washington, D.C.

Geography Bee: This is an annual event for grades 4-8, sponsored by the National Geographic Society, in which our school participates.

Math Olympics: This annual event is for grades 4-8. The top math students from each class compete in math calculation and reasoning.

Field Trips and Special Outings: During the school year, special activities are planned for many or all of the classes.  These will be announced as planned.
